Taking its name from the former stable block upon which it is built, The Old Stables restaurant at Allerton Manor Golf Club is well-established as a local, family-friendly eating establishment for residents and visitors of South Liverpool. Offering a seasonal menu featuring classic British dishes, our hard-working chefs use locally-sourced ingredients from responsible and trusted suppliers.
From a breakfast barm to a Sunday roast, there is something for everyone at The Old Stables.
Allerton Manor is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Restaurant Manager and Head Chef to oversee The Old Stables Restaurant.
Eddie McCormack, Head Chef joins the team with over 23 years of kitchen experience, working most notably with Marriott Hotels and Chester Grosvenor Hotel where he was able to hone in his talents working with some of the best Chef’s in the North West.
Eddie has come to Allerton Manor with a much needed fresh take on not only the kitchen operation but also the offering itself. He has carefully crafted a series of new menus which will be available from Wednesday 31st August which will wholeheartedly appeal to all who dine at The Old Stables Restaurant.
The Old Stables’ new menus look to embrace classic flavour profiles and expand upon them with a modern, worldly approach that has an emphasis on seasonality, vibrancy and flavour. The menu has a European base with a mix of Mediterranean, South East Asian, & African influences which elegantly come through on various dishes throughout. The new menu appears to also have a key focus being nutritious with local fresh vegetables used wherever possible to accentuate flavour & texture.
It also provides fresh takes on traditional British dishes like the nation’s favourite classic fish and chips & includes a wide selection of steak and burgers from the grill. This eclectic mix of dishes allows the Old Stables Restaurant to not be pigeonholed into one cuisine as it takes from many but it has its own new style that is unique to the South Liverpool area.
Stephen Richardson, Restaurant & Bars Manager joins us with over 21 years in hospitality management. His focus will be on the improved service within the restaurant itself which includes the training of staff as well as the day to day front of house operation of both the Old Stables Restaurant & Fletcher’s Beer Garden.

We always recommend reserving a table when eating at The Old Stables, so as not to be disappointed when we’re full to capacity. Use the booking form below to reserve your table today.
If the form doesn’t display the particular time you’re hoping for, that means we are fully-booked for that particular time of day. Likewise, if the option to have a heater or parasol with your table is not showing, that means we have none available at that time.
The booking widget will ask you for your credit or debit card details. This is a precautionary measure against no-shows and late cancellations (within 48 hours of your booked table). If you do not arrive for your booking or cancel without giving sufficient notice, your card will automatically be charged a no-show fee of £5.00 per person.
The Old Stables is one of the most popular eating establishments in South Liverpool – and with good reason. Quite aside from our outstanding food and drink options and our friendly, enthusiastic staff, we have so much that keeps customers coming back!
